For Love

If I have a chance to hold you again
I would open my heart and let you walk right in
I would hold you as close as petals on a rose
As we walk through the breeze as the soft wind flows
I would gaze deep in your eyes to see reflect ions at night
Of the stars in the sky and the moon so bright
I would stand by your side, and protect you from harm
Shower you with my love just to dry you off with my charm
I would never be too far away for you reach out and touch
I’ll love you forever and always ‘because you mean just that much
I would pray to God faithfully to keep things right
In the name of His Son ask that He keeps us in His light
And if all that didn’t work I would ask in the end
That He blesses us with more wisdom so we can try it again
And when God decides if time for my very last breathe
I’ll pray from my heart He gives it to you for it’s all I’ll have left…

One more chance

How many times have we asked God for one more chance?
Better yet how many times has He granted our request?
How many times have we slipped after we’ve sworn to Him?
If given just one more chance we would give him our best.
How many times have we tripped and fail
And only He stopped us from hitting the ground
Looked for so called loved ones, but it was only He that could be found.
How many times has the road looked so dark?
That we just wanted to lie down and never get up
Only to awake to the sunshine and a blessing He’s poured into our cup.
How many times have we done something we knew was wrong?
And smiled outside though inside we felt so very alone
Then Cried tears for forgiveness and one more chance once everyone was gone
Enough that when that day comes that our chances are no more
That we have a chance to enter His kingdom once God opens up Heaven doors

He's alway's on time

I woke up early this morning,
Mind wasn't where it should be
Spirit and flesh seem to be in battle,
To conquer the naked soul of me

My flesh was feeling antsy,
My physical had 'bout gave in
Then the spirit of a friend delivered a message from above
Saying; no way will I let your flesh win

So I had a deep conversation,
Dropped to my knees to pray
And a sweet voice of reason said; don't be too hard on yourself
Thomas, Rome wasn't built in a day

I had to search for some confirmation,
Felt like I was chasing waterfalls
For a man without self-control in life, is like a city broken into
And left without walls (Proverbs 25:28)

Motown

Motown was our baby and as babies do they grow up and move on, but man did it take the wind out of a lot of our sails as children. All of us children just took it for granted that we would get our chance to walk through those blue doors as so many around the world did. But...
for us young talented Detroiters, we just knew it because we lived right there with it. We ate it, slept it, talked it and God Knows we played it. Their departure left a void in the city that to this day has never quite been filled, but it's still our baby...4-EVER MOTOWN!

A simple man (Excerpt)

Why is it that mankind seems to love complexity when in fact Gods’ word is foundational and fundamental? Has He not shown us that building a house on solid rock is more valuable than building on the sandy beach?  Yet we continue to build on the beach paying so much more just to view the waves that are sure to come and collapse the house.
Has He not shown us numerous times throughout history that buildings reaching high into the sky will never take us as high as the smallest bird can fly? Yet we pay so much more to live high off the ground just to get a higher view of those on the ground when we’re looking down.

Has He not shown us ..
