Time tells me to remember the days long past
When my young spirit was crushed , and I was knocked on my ass!
By a man who wasn't my father, yet claimed he had that right
Cause he brought us a little food,
But that was just to lay my mother that night!
Now that's how I developed the hate behind my smile
Mere survival instincts of an abused black child
But who could I run to, not dear old dad
He's the very one responsible for the things I never had!
