What do we really know?

What makes today’s civilization think we know any more than those great civilizations’ of the past?  Fact is we still can’t even figure out the great accomplishments of the remote past.
The questions we ask today about where we come from, where we’re headed, how we should live, and for what reasons should we die are age old questions. It’s quite obvious that the answers have always been based on the belief of a higher entity regardless of one’s religious preference or lack thereof.
As I think about this, I can’t help but remember the elementary school exercise in which the teacher whispered something in the ear of the first student and the process was repeated throughout the class until it reached the last student. The lesson was simply to teach us how the original story changes when passed on from one to another!
What mankind has always known is that we are born into this world, and die on this earth. This is simply because while living on this earth we have all stood witness to these phenomena’s.  It’s ironic that our belief from the very beginning has always been the MOTHER of our faith in our FATHER.
